Soul Retrievers Series
Seventeen year old Alyssa Wood’s life is turned upside down when her boyfriend kills himself the day after she dumps him.
Blamed by the townsfolk of Broadwater and ostracised by her friends is bad enough. But the fallout from dealing with her mom’s increasingly frequent psychotic episodes sends her fleeing to New York City to live with her aunt, a Wicca High Priestess.
Alyssa doesn’t believe in magic, not any more.
She has a new life to lead: a new BFF in Seth and a major crush on Ronan, the sexy geek saxophonist who tutors music at her high school.
Can she leave her old life behind or will the ghosts of the past continue to haunt her?
BANISH raised a lot of questions about Alyssa Wood, the seventeen year old heroine. Readers wanted to know what made Alyssa so cynical and angry.
So it was inevitable I had to write VANISH, a prequel where we get to see why Alyssa is the way she is.he has faced some tough stuff in her past, particularly with her mother.
But there is so much more to their fraught relationship…we get to see some of it resolved in BANISH but I have a feeling there’s a lot more to Alyssa’s story…
When 17 year old Alyssa Wood sees a murdered body she recognises in her boyfriend’s music clip, closely followed by frequent spine-chilling reminders of a sordid past she escaped, she has one week to save her enemy, save her spirit and save her sanity.
Alyssa Woods’ past holds nothing but bad memories.
After her ex boyfriend Noah commits suicide and her mom’s alcoholism sparks yet another psychotic episode, she flees Broadwater and heads to New York City to stay with her bohemian aunt, a Wicca High Priestess.
Alyssa revels in the anonymity of a big city and her new life. Her grades climb, she has a new best friend, and a new guy, the sexy geek Ronan, a saxophonist who prefers jazz to pop.
Her newfound peace is shattered when she sees a dead body in one of Ronan’s music clips – and she’s the only one who can see it.
Worse, she recognizes the body. Murdered a week forward.
Despite her family’s Wicca background, Alyssa doesn’t believe in the supernatural, but she’ll do whatever it takes to save her enemy, save her spirit and save her soul.
I’m a huge thriller fan. I love reading novels with twists and turns, trying to guess the villain. They keep me riveted to the last page.
But could I actually write one myself?
That’s a challenge I accepted and BANISH is the result. The world of ghosts and spirits and witches intrigues me so I blended all those elements into a kooky, spooky murder mystery with a seriously chilling psycho villain.
I also like hot musicians so added a touch of romance for Alyssa with Ronan, a sexy saxophonist and an older guy!
BANISH is my YA debut and I can’t wait to hear what readers think!
