How far would you go to save your family business?
Jewellery designer and heiress Ruby Seaborn will do anything to save her family’s company from financial ruin. And she means anything. Including proposing a strictly business marriage to diamond mine magnate Jax Maroney – the only man able to restore the Seaborn jewellery empire to its former glory!
She needs his money; he needs her socialite credentials-it’s a win-win solution. And if they indulge in certain…fringe benefits of their marriage along the way, that’s fine. Because luckily Ruby’s heart is as unbreakable as the precious gems she works with…isn’t it?
Who doesn’t love jewelry? The sparkle of a diamond? The cut of a gem? Gemstones intrigue me and I couldn’t resist basing a book around them. MARRYING THE ENEMY features Ruby Seaborn (inspired by Asher Keddie), a lapidary temporarily running her family’s exclusive jewelry business. A business in financial strife.
Enter Jax Maroney (inspired by Don Diamont), a mining CEO with the power to make or break Ruby’s company. How far would two people go to get what they want?
In this modern era, I relish the challenge of making a marriage of convenience story believable. I hope I’ve achieved my goal with Ruby and Jax’s story. (and yes, before you ask, Ruby’s sister Sapphire will have her own story early 2013.)
Set in Armidale, an upmarket, old-money, suburb of Melbourne, I loved wandering down High Street with its exclusive boutiques and high-end cafés.
HER DEAL WITH THE DEVIL
Better the devil she knows…?
Patrick Fourde was once famed for the trail of broken hearts and rumpled bedsheets he left behind him. Now the fashion house CEO is determined to make his name known for the right reasons. First challenge? Getting Sapphire Seaborn, Melbourne’s Queen of Jewelry, onside.
Sapphie has sacrificed everything for her jewelry business and very nearly lost it all. She hates that to rescue it she needs to work alongside her nemesis-Patrick!
It was supposed to be business only, but Sapphie quickly realizes that when you make a deal with a devil this scorching, someone’s going to get burned…
If you’ve read MARRYING THE ENEMY, featuring Ruby and Sapphire, the sisters who own an exclusive jewelry store in Melbourne’s upmarket suburb of Armidale, you’ll know that Sapphire needed her own story.
Enter Patrick Fourde, CEO of an international couture house, determined to ruffle Sapphie’s feathers, just like he did in high school. I love the glamor of Melbourne’s Fashion Week and it was so much fun to set an entire book around it. I hope you enjoy Sapphire and Patrick’s glamorous romance, my first for the new Harlequin KISS series.
The Cartwright Brothers
OVERTIME IN THE BOSS’S BED
Penniless in her pencil skirt…
Desperate for a job, dancer Starr Merriday is forced to hang up her ballet shoes and accept a position as a P.A. in a new city – even if the last time she saw her new boss…she was naked in his bed! Her professional pumps and pencil skirt can’t hide her top-to-toe blush when she remembers their blisteringly hot night together!
But Starr won’t let that suppress her sassy spirit – after all, unbuttoning her blouse is next on her boss’s agenda. So she will switch on her out-of-office and go to a meeting – in the boss’s bed!
OVERTIME IN THE BOSS’S BED was sparked by a picture of Kate Hudson in a magazine. She appeared so bubbly, so happy, so ‘out there’ with her mix of funky jewelry and casual elegance that I knew I had to write a story with a heroine just like her.
I also have a long-standing passion with dance, so what better job to give my bold heroine than being a dancer? Once I had my heroine clear, I needed to match her with someone her opposite in every way and Callum Cartwright strutted onto the page.
Following a family tragedy, he tamed his wild side a long time ago but getting involved with Starr changes all that…
Set in Sydney, my gorgeous home city, Melbourne, and the spectacular Hayman Island in the Great Barrier Reef, I hope you enjoy watching the sparks fly between these two.
WILD NIGHTS WITH HER WICKED BOSS / HER BAD, BAD BOSS
When glittering socialite Jade Beacham’s life falls apart she’s determined to make a completely fresh start. Packing away her designer wardrobe, she heads out to the arctic splendour of Alaska to become the newest – and feistiest – employee of deliciously dangerous adventure holiday dynamo Rhys Cartwright.
Expecting a high-maintenance princess, Rhys finds Jade’s enthusiasm and natural beauty surprising – and outrageously enticing. If working together is wicked torture, giving in to temptation is worse – as their blistering night together plays havoc with Rhys’s strict ‘one night only’ rule.

THE BOSS’S BEDROOM AGENDA
eharlequin top 10 Bestseller
Hired for the boss’s pleasure!
The instant Beth Walker comes face to face with her new boss, tall, tanned and incredibly toned Aidan Voss, they can’t take their eyes off one another…
Beth is well aware that CEO AIdan has one rule of business: to keep his personal life out of the boardroom! But he has decided that Beth is the exception that proves the rule…He may not be able to offer her any more than a hot and steamy fling, but he’s a master of seduction-and he’s moved Beth to the top of his ‘To Do’ list…
THE BOSS’S BEDROOM AGENDA came to me in one of those classic half-dream/half-wake states where I get a lot of my ideas. A line popped into my head: “I now pronounce you a bona fide nerd!” and from there I developed the quirky character of Beth, a city girl totally unsuited to working in a museum. (Though the original idea came from actually walking the quiet halls of Melbourne Museum with my enthused kids!)
Beth, a metal sculptor, is a free spirit. She loves being creative, shoes and fashion in that order. When she meets the impressive CEO of the museum, she’s unprepared for the rush of meeting an adventurer so like her. Aidan Voss is an archaeologist standing in as CEO at the museum. The last place he wants to be is behind a desk but in keeping a close eye on Beth he soon has his hands full.
Researching this book was great fun. Melbourne Museum is huge, modern and packed with fascinating displays. I needed several trips to really get a feel for the place…something my preschooler thought was very cool!
TWO WEEKS IN THE MAGNATE’S BED
He’ll tempt her… Shipping tycoon Zac McCoy can sense there is a passionate woman behind Lana Walker’s shy exterior. Whilst aboard his luxury yacht, he’ll tempt her out to play!
He’ll tease her… Lana always looks before she leaps. But the captivating Captain has her throwing caution to the wind. The gloves come off, the silk dresses slip on-and the real Lana begins to emerge.
He’ll take her! He’ll have her as his two-week mistress. But as land approaches, a fortnight may not be enough…
It was the first story that poured from my fingertips to my keyboard, the first story that set me on my journey to publication, the first story that I never forgot.
It’s one of those stories I really wanted to see published because it holds such a special place in my heart for a whole host of sentimental reasons and after a hefty rewrite (it was initially targetted at Silhouette Special Edition) and revisions, I’m absolutely thrilled this book will hit the shelves in March 09.
Zac McCoy, quite simply, is a charmer. A flirt. The type of guy you’d expect to meet on a cruise, the type of guy to sweep you off your feet and into a magical romance too good to be true.
But Lana Walker isn’t the type of girl to believe slick words and smooth moves. She’s cautious, shy, an introvert and considering her past, falling for a guy like Zac is the last thing she wants. As if Zac will take no for an answer!
Research-wise, I’ve been lucky enough to go cruising several times, the last being on my honeymoon to spectacular Alaska.
It really is a brilliant experience and I hope I bring a little of it alive in this book.
THE TYCOON’S DATING DEAL
Kara Roberts has been roped into a speed dating evening and is shocked to discover that one of her ‘dates’ is Matt Byrne, her ex-boyfriend! Matt’s now a successful and very sexy lawyer, and as he only requires a girlfriend to advance his career he’s decided the best option is to hire one! How will Kara play the dating game and will she win? Is Matt offering a lucrative dating deal that she can’t afford to refuse?
I’ll let you in on a little secret: this book in its original form is the first partial I ever submitted to Mills and Boon! While ‘Fire and Ice’ wasn’t suitable for Harlequin Modern at the time, Kim Young wrote a 2 page encouraging rejection, asking for anything else I’d written. The result? I sent in THE TYCOON’S DATING DEAL and it sold!
Cue forward five years and with a hefty rewrite, Rhys and Jade have their romance in Alaska published! I’m thrilled this book will be released, considering it was inspired by my honeymoon. Glacier Point, Davidson Glacier, all real. And the canoe? I actually rowed out on it to the glacier, incredible experience! As for the hot tub in Skagway, sadly, I didn’t get to research that first hand!
THE WEDDING CONTRACT

But Steve Rockwell’s proposal has come at a time when Amber’s family needs money for their business. Wouldn’t she…?
